Meet Wendy Reiter

Wendy Reiter, MSEd, recently retired from the Horace Mann School in New York after a 35-year career. Now, Wendy is devoted and passionate about designing impactful student initiatives. In 2018, she launched a new initiative at the prestigious prep school, the Parent Institute, which later formed the basis for the valuable consulting work she now conducts for schools, while living full-time in Utah.

Through her educational consulting service, Wendy shares her extensive experience providing services and programs to school systems and independent schools nationwide. Additionally, Wendy offers a deep understanding of independent day schools and holds a unique perspective on specific programs that maximize the educational experience for students, families, faculty, and administration.

Wendy’s current passion as an educational consultant is working with school administrators and faculty to develop customized programs that improve and enrich the work environment and quality of life for students, faculty, and families. She has a thorough understanding of how to create environments that support adolescent development. Her developmental advisory model empowers faculty to build close relationships with a small group of advisees over several years. These relationships not only enrich students’ lives but also offer faculty meaningful professional fulfillment. Wendy has extensive experience providing professional development that equips faculty with the skills needed to strengthen their advisory roles, boosting their confidence and effectiveness in working with students and parents.

Beyond her work creating outstanding advisory programs that maximize the school experience, Wendy has years of expertise developing meaningful mentor programs that leverage high school students’ desire to connect with younger students. These lasting bonds help build confidence in teens and teach critical life skills such as communication, interpersonal relationships, leadership, and organization.

Wendy is available to assist schools and organizations in designing parent educational programs that raise awareness and knowledge of children’s growth and development. By offering these enriching experiences, schools significantly enhance their environment, providing parents with an educational complement to their child’s academic program. Such programs foster more effective parenting and help develop a stronger school community with more engaged parents.
